Pedro Montesano

Pedro Montesano de Souza Campos is a Forestry Engineer graduated from the UFV - Federal University of Viçosa, Brazil. He completed his doctoral studies at the Universidad de La Frontera, Chile, in conjunction with the University of Granada, Spain, obtaining the titles of Doctor of Natural Resources Sciences and Doctor of Fundamental and Systems Biology. He currently works as manager of the Plant Genetic Resources Bank of the Agricultural Research Institute, INIA Chile, located in the INIA Carillanca center, in the Araucanía Region. In this role, he is dedicated to the conservation and study of species of agricultural interest, including cereals, legumes, forage crops, and pseudocereals. His lines of research are related to the morphology and physiology of roots, leaves and seeds, as well as the evaluation and selection of germplasm for sustainable agriculture, with special emphasis on tolerance to different types of abiotic stress.
