Invitation

We are pleased to invite youto participate in it XIV International Symposium on Genetic Resources of America and the Caribbean (SIRGeAC).

Those interested in publicizing their studies within the framework of this important event may submit your abstracts until the November 25 (final deadline). The abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee of the Symposium.

Theme

The central theme of this Symposium is: "Genetic Resources: source of solutions for present and future challenges", being an honor as hosts to be able to receive the main specialists of our continent in the field of conservation, valuation, use and regulatory aspects of plant, animal and microbial genetic resources.

Our goal is to address issues aimed at strengthening conservation; innovation against the effects of climate change; assess how to ensure food and nutrition security; and review the impacts of the implementation of relevant international treaties, among other issues of interest.

In accordance with the above, we have structured this XIV Symposium in four sections; inviting our scientific community to send their papers, indicating if they belong to:

Section 1

New strategies and actions to strengthen conservation on site and ex situ, and promote the use of plant, animal and microbial genetic resources.

Section 2

Innovations developed from plant, animal and microbial genetic resources, to face the effects of climate change.

Section 3

Innovations developed from plant, animal and microbial genetic resources, to guarantee food and nutritional security.

Section 4

A look at international treaties: progress since their implementation at the national and international level, impacts and future challenges (TIRPFA, Nagoya Protocol, access-CBD laws).

Modalities

SIRGeAC 2023 offers two modalities of participation for those who want to present their abstracts and a third modality for the posters that are awarded.
