Scientific researcher with more than 30 years of experience in the development of biopesticides. He has a PhD in Agricultural Sciences with an emphasis in Phytopathology from the University of Liège (Gembloux Agro-Biotech, Belgium) and two Master's degrees (Agricultural Biotechnology and Microbiology). Since 1994, he has worked at the Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation (AGROSAVIA), where he formed a group for the research and development of biopesticides. In addition, it obtained financing for the construction of the Biological Control Laboratory, the pilot plant for the semi-commercial scaling of biopesticides, and the industrial plant for the production of a biopesticide. She was the manager of the Germplasm Bank of Microorganisms with agricultural interest, which has existed since 1997. She has published 110 scientific articles, 23 books and 28 book chapters. He has received nine national awards, awarded by the Scientific Societies of Colombia (Phytopathology, Entomology and Soil Sciences) and an Honoris Causa Doctorate, conferred by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
