Anita Behn is an assistant professor at the Institute of Plant Production and Health of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences of the Austral University of Chile (UACh), where she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the areas of genetic improvement and conservation of genetic resources, with special emphasis on potatoes. She is an Agricultural Engineer from the Catholic University of Chile and a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the Technological University of Munich (TUM). She was a researcher at the Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture, addressing issues of breeding, molecular biology, tissue culture, and field evaluations. His research areas are the genetic improvement of crops and their response to biotic and abiotic stresses, as well as the role of genetic diversity in the sustainability of agriculture. She works as curator of the Potato Germplasm Bank of the Austral University of Chile, and has been establishing a small regional hop germplasm bank. He has developed multiple national and international projects linked to native potatoes, as well as the area of brewing technology and its raw materials, mainly hops.
