UACh

Carolina Lizana is an Agricultural Engineer, Master in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Chile and PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the Austral University of Chile. She is an academic at the Institute of Plant Production and Health, where she teaches ecophysiology and production of annual crops, roots and tubers; and prodean of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences of the UACh. His research points to the role of genetic diversity in resilience to climate change and the response of crops to environmental stresses, especially the effects of UV-B radiation, temperature and water availability. He has executed as PI projects DID-UACh, Fondecyt, Fondecyt Networks, FIA and regional FIC, and collaborated in other national and international initiatives. She is co-in charge of the UACh Native Potato Germplasm Bank, coordinator of the research line "From Soil to Table" at the Volcanic Soil Research Center (CISVo) and is a member of the editorial committee of Revista Agrosur. She has developed projects to install innovation capacities in the Los Ríos Region and participated in training activities to reduce gender gaps in science, technology and innovation.
