Karla Inostroza is an Agricultural Engineer, PhD in Sciences with a mention in Applied Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of La Frontera, Chile. Academic of the Animal Production area of the Faculty of Natural Resources of the Catholic University of Temuco. Alternate director, technology manager and project coordinator (FIA, ANID, among others) and researcher in charge of the Fondecyt project, related to product quality (meat and milk), molecular markers and food technology. He completed internships in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, Molecular Biology and Analytical Chemistry laboratories of the Institut Polytechnique LaSalle Beauvais (France), and in the Department of Food Science and Technology and the Laboratory of Fats and Oils of the University of Republic (Uruguay). His main line of research is lipid metabolism, through his extensive experience in analytical techniques such as GC-FID, for determining the composition of fatty acids in feed from ruminants and their association with molecular markers in candidate genes. Currently, he is working on the identification of fatty acids as biomarkers of fat content in milk and meat.
