Lorena Barra is an Agricultural Engineer and Industrial Civil Engineer, Master in Integral Quality Management and PhD in Agronomy Sciences, specializing in biological control of pests and diseases. She is a researcher at INIA Chile, in charge of INIA's National Center for Bioinputs and CEO of Endogroup SPA. He has worked on the development of a line of biocontrollers, based on native endophytic fungi, managing projects with public and private entities. She is an advisor to national and international companies and institutions, for the development and industrial scaling of bio-inputs. Author of book chapters in the field of biological control and conservation of microbial germplasm. In 2017, she was recognized with the INIA Intellectual Property award for her project "Applications of microorganisms in the agricultural and health areas" and a finalist in the "Your Thesis in Three Minutes" contest of the U. de Concepción. In 2021 he obtained 2nd place in the "Innovative Scientific Award" of ANID Chile with the technology "Native endophytic fungi for the control of pests and diseases in vegetables". Today he is part of the board of the IOBC, Neotropical section, and representative of Chile before the CABI of England.
