Marcelo Panichini is an Agricultural Engineer from the University of La Frontera, Chile, and a PhD from the same university. In 2013, the Fondecyt postdoctoral fellow was awarded on the carbon stabilization capacity in soils with different production systems. Between 2016 and 2017 he worked on two Fondecyt Initiation projects; the first related to the effect of biochar on soil microbial communities and the second, in which he investigated the effect of biochar application on colonization and mycorrhization in wheat plants. In 2018, he entered the Institute of Agricultural Research, INIA Chile, with an initiative that evaluates the incorporation of stubble and its effect on the microbial communities of the soil. He is currently responsible for the INIA Research Centers project on the use of phosphorus solubilizing bacteria, with the purpose of reducing the dose of fertilizers, and a second project where the effect of the phosphorus dose on the Rhizobium symbiosis is investigated. -vetch.
